About DavosWeb3 2027
DavosWeb3 2027 is the third edition of the DavosWeb3 institutional roundtable, held in Davos, Switzerland on January 20, 2027 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, timed to sit inside World Economic Forum week. The theme for this edition is "The Wealth of Networks".
The format is deliberately not a conference. DavosWeb3 describes it as a selective institutional roundtable built around peer-to-peer discussion, and the guest list reflects that: investors, innovators, sovereign wealth funds, private equity partners, policy architects and industry leaders, few enough in number that the conversation is the programme. Three hours is the whole event. There is no exhibition floor and no parallel track.
The agenda covers blockchain infrastructure, decentralised finance, digital identity, artificial intelligence, global finance, policy and regulation, and responsible innovation. Arnold Johnson, the founder, is listed as a special speaker, addressing the intersections between global finance and decentralised protocols.
The series has a short but specific history. The first gathering in January 2025 brought together roughly 100 people from across the Web3 ecosystem, and participants signed the Davos Declaration, a statement organised around seven principles: collaboration, equitability, transparency, accountability, inclusion, decentralisation and sustainability. Founding members also published a whitepaper titled "Ushering a New Billion into the Global System". The 2026 edition drew a coalition of organisations that included Manta Network, 0G Foundation, Blockchain Founders Fund, Unstoppable Domains, Kredete, Dentity and Animoca Brands.
Participation is selective and primarily invitation-oriented rather than ticketed, and speaking and sponsorship enquiries are handled directly by the organiser. A venue for 2027 had not been published at the time of writing.
Why attend
- Three hours, invitation-only, in a room sized for conversation — the format is a working roundtable, not a stage-and-audience conference.
- Davos during World Economic Forum week concentrates institutional capital, policy figures and protocol founders in one small town for the same few days.
- The agenda is institutional by design — sovereign wealth funds, private equity and regulatory frameworks rather than retail crypto topics.
- A signed declaration and a published whitepaper give the series a stated position, which keeps the discussion narrower and more concrete than a general Web3 panel.
Who should attend
- Sovereign wealth funds and institutional allocators
- Private equity and venture partners in digital assets
- Policy architects and regulatory affairs leads
- DeFi, digital identity and blockchain infrastructure founders
- Corporate and industry leaders evaluating tokenised finance
The search angle
Institutional crypto is a small, high-intent search market: allocators, funds and policy teams research a short list of names before any conversation starts, and they rarely go past the first page. Editorial coverage on established finance and blockchain publications is what puts a protocol or a fund inside that short list. Paid placements win the click, but independent coverage is what gets cited by the people doing the diligence.
